Supremacy of Christ is becoming the awaited conference around the student world in and around Addis.
The rationale behind the Supremacy of Christ conference is to make Christ supreme in the student’s life and make them a witness of that life. Based on this in March 2017 the Central region of EvaSUE convened the three-day conference under the theme “But we preach Christ crucified” for the third time, and brings together more than 2000 university students from and around Addis.
The first session, Solomon Abebe (Pastor) had preaching “The Background and Context of 1st Corinthians”. After that, three consecutive exposition has taken place by Dr. Mamusha Fanta, he accented that the crucified Christ is the center of the Christian church, preaching, and minister, knowing the crucified Christ is the source and motivation of Christian Ethics respectively.
Then, the closing speech Pastor Tsadiku Abdo the president of ECFE said that “At times like we are living now, the significance of this conference in the individual and collective life of youths is undeniable”. “We are doing this conference to equip students with the word of God by emphasizing the supremacy of Christ in every part of our life,” said Robel Chemeda the General Secretary of EvaSUE. When Robel continues “while we are doing this we are fervently seeking and expecting that when students went out from here to their campuses to live their life as they imparted. Our desire is to see when the Kingdome of God reigns in every part of the campus and beyond.”
Yakob Mame the regional coordinator of EvaSUE central region also said that “The main task of the regional offices is to equip the life of evangelical student’s life with sound teachings and practice of scripture, so that they become a living witness of Christ in their campuses, and supremacy of Christ is a tool to achieve this task.” Central Region is the largest of all eight EvaSUE regions in the number of students its serving and the area it’s covering. There are 25 public and 47 private campuses under the region.
After the conference most of the students were overwhelmed and there has been a vast positive response from them.
